Ms. Smith, a first generation American herself, has a great passion for helping immigrants. Born, raised and educated overseas, she is not only familiar with foreign cultures, but also appreciates and understands the concerns of ethnic peoples.
As an attorney, Ms. Smith’s main focus is immigration law. She has years of successful experiences in employment-based immigration including EB-1A extraordinary ability immigration, L1/EB-1C multinational manager immigration, EB-5 investment immigration and EB2, EB3 immigration as well as H-1B nonimmigrant visas and family-based immigration, to name a few. Further, Ms. Smith is a designated immigration attorney for a number of large companies across a range of industries including high-tech, architecture, engineering, education, manufacturing, real estate, entertainment and the arts, to name a few.
Ms. Smith has successfully represented famous actors, exchange-listed company entrepreneurs, singers, scientists, artists and athletes, to name a few. She has met and exceeded the immigration-needs of large- and medium-sized company managers and foreign employees. She is attentive, meticulous and responsible. As such, her cases have a very high success rate. Clients regard her as a very capable and trustworthy attorney.
Prior to focusing on immigration law, Ms. Smith practiced intellectual property law for more than a decade before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her master’s degree in computer science and her experience as a registered patent attorney provides her with excellent analytical and legal skills and experience dealing with a U.S. government agency. Her goal is to assist immigrants like herself to make their American dreams come true. As a lawyer, she is also proud of her pro bona work on behalf of poor and low-income residents and immigrants.
Ms. Smith is also active in various academic and social functions. She is the former Chair of Orange County Bar Association Immigration Law Section, the American Immigration Lawyers Association Customs and Boarder Protection liaison, and a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Immigration Law Section and the Orange County Women Lawyers Association.
